Her First Wave

The brisk wind played with Shannon's long, wet, blonde hair.  The scorching sun beamed down on her as seagulls squaked from the boardwalk.  A sheen of sweat glistened on her forehead as she strapped her surfboard to her ankle.  Shannon could feel the salty sea spray hit her face when she stepped into the sparkling blue ocean.  The constant crash of the waves caused her stomach to knot.  The wave was comming closer and closer, getting bigger and bigger as she climed onto her board.  "And... Now!" Her instructor shouted.  With a rust of adrenaline, Shannon stood up and rode her first wave.

The Perfect Morning

She opened her eyes to the smell of cinnamon buns.  A breeze slid through her open window and played with her hair.  Somewhere nearby, a bird chirped excitedly about the rising sun.  She sunk back into her pillows and watched the rays of sun dance along her floor.  As the light spread across the sky, she could feel the warmth of it on her face.
